Honda’s Revolutionary CRF150R Launched

Honda's Revolutionary CRF150R Launched

The four-stroke motocross revolution is set to continue with the new small-capacity CRF150.

Despite being ‘only’ a 150, the four-stroke punch and power is still there, making this unmistakably one of the CRF family. This latest addition to the series is going to transform the smaller capacity racing classes and follow the revolutionary four-stroke trend so successfully set by Honda’s CRF450R and CRF250R machines.

The CRF150 is an all-new machine, powered by a scaled-down and updated version of Honda’s race-proved Unicam four-valve motors. The engine is a 149cc liquid-cooled four-stroke engine, working through a five-speed gearbox which pumps out just over 22bhp. The CRF’s chassis is similarly race-prepared, with 37mm inverted Showa front forks, Pro-Link rear suspension and a lightweight box-section aluminium swing-arm, rigid enough to handle any off-road punishment.

Lightweight plastic body components feature the slim but aggressive styling of the works four-stroke thumpers and are finished in Honda’s striking racing red.

Two versions of the machine have been launched, in small and big-wheel versions. The small-wheel CRF150R retails at £3149 and the big-wheel CRF150R2 at £3249.
